Dissolved more international treaties than any president in U.S. history.

My presidency is the most secretive and unaccountable of any in U.S. history.

Quote:
Senator John Kerry has made his 4-month combat tour in Vietnam the centerpiece of his bid for the Presidency. His campaign jets a handful of veterans around the country, and trots them out at public appearances to sing his praises. John Kerry wants us to believe that these men represent all those he calls his "band of brothers."
But most combat veterans who served with John Kerry in Vietnam see him in a very different light.

Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has been formed to counter the false "war crimes" charges John Kerry repeatedly made against Vietnam veterans who served in our units and elsewhere, and to accurately portray Kerry's brief tour in Vietnam as a junior grade Lieutenant. We speak from personal experience -- our group includes men who served beside Kerry in combat as well as his commanders. Though we come from different backgrounds and hold varying political opinions, we agree on one thing: John Kerry misrepresented his record and ours in Vietnam and therefore exhibits serious flaws in character and lacks the potential to lead.

We regret the need to do this. Most Swift boat veterans would like nothing better than to support one of our own for America's highest office, regardless of whether he was running as a Democrat or a Republican. However, Kerry's phony war crimes charges, his exaggerated claims about his own service in Vietnam, and his deliberate misrepresentation of the nature and effectiveness of Swift boat operations compels us to step forward.
For more than thirty years, most Vietnam veterans kept silent as we were maligned as misfits, addicts, and baby killers. Now that a key creator of that poisonous image is seeking the Presidency we have resolved to end our silence.
The time has come to set the record straight.

You know Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump. Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and he won a ping-pong competition? That ain’t retarded.

You went full retard, man. Never go full retard.

I want to see John Kerry's almost 20 year experience in the Senate. Oh wait there isn't much to it. Come on now. Going to Vietnam for 4 months doesn't make you a war hero or anything like that. One cannot run a presidency on that experience alone. The need for good ideas and what not is what one needs not something that is over 25 years old.

he was traded from the rangers to the chi-sox. from whence he went to the cubbies. the original quote is correct.

fwiw, the white sox traded him to the cubs. i don't hear too many people talk about how that guy is a moron. also, bush was not the GM, he was in the ownership group the real responsibility for that trade falls to Marty Scott. not that he was worth a damn for 3 years after being traded from the rangers, and still ain't worth a damn in the field.

Curious, let's talk about Bush's qualifications vs. Kerry's to run the white house. Let's talk about Bush's outstanding service record and his outstanding human rights record, and his incredible economic policy. Many folks are saying to me, are you going to vote for Kerry or against Bush? Most Bush supporters make the case not to vote for Kerry. So, who, between the two, is really the best equipped, best informed, and has America's best interest at heart.

Is there something that Bush possesses in any of what I just mentioned that I should consider him for president? Do all Bush supporters really honestly believe that Bush is good for America and that we should re-elect him, are Bush supporters just following their partisan "unity", or does handing the war over to someone with actual combat experience trouble them too much?

I just can't find one thing about George W. Bush that is equal to what Kerry possesses. I'd just like to know why I should vote for Bush. If one allows themselves to consider all the factors that face the office of the presidency, how is it possible to find Bush the best candidate? I'm stumped by Bush supporter's stubborn loyalty or seeming lack of contemplation regarding Bush's qualifications to lead our country.

Clinton clearly wipes the floor with either of these candidates but a vote for Bush? Come-on, at least give it some real thought.

I'd like to see Kerry answer to the charges he brought forward. On one hand, conspiracies are never good, on the other hand, those things did happen in that war.

I guess the USA under clinton's administration never bombed anyone, huh? What was yugoslavia about again? atleast the two countries the USA bombed under Bush's administration had something to do 9/11.

Also, you are very mistaken if you think the USA went from the world's most sympathetic country at 9/11 to the most hated. We were the most hated country decades before Bush ever stepped into office. We weren't sympathized by anybody at 9/11.

That was the difference, Bush made an effort to reduce civilian casualties and casualties overall, Clinton just dropped bombs.
