HOW TO GETCONNECTED
Quote: |
1. install and launch the client software.
2. if you want, click on settings->options, change from "directsound" to "wave" and click OK -- SOME people find this to be an improvement to sound quality; it depends on your soundcard and machine configuration.
3. click connection->connect
4. right click on servers and choose add
5. input following variables: Quote: | Label: utgamers community voice
Server Address: ts.utgamers.com:9000
Nickname: ((your name))
Allow server to assign nickname NOT CHECKED
Anonymous CHECKED
Password: insta ((this may change at times))
Auto-Reconnect CHECKED |
6. click connect -- you're in.
if you wish to do a "quick connect" then you can click that option and simply put in the serverIP, password, and your nickname -- OR if youwish to join as "guest" to test it out, you can click on the following link: JOIN AS GUEST

currently limited to 50 users with 10 user per room limit (to remove possibility of massive talk-over)... these settings are preliminary and will change as deemed necessary via real-world testing...
TO INSTALL KEYBINDS
i have created a small set of default keybinds to switch channels from within the game.
http://forum.utgamers.com/hit_files/teamspeak/utgamers_voice_keybinds.kbn
Quote: | 1. download (right-click->save as) file above and save somewhere handy (like your desktop)
2. in teamspeak, click on settings->key settings
3. click import -- select the file that you saved from above.
4. click close |
the keybinds i have used are:
Quote: | <ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad 1> = main "limbo" channel
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad 4> = Chat channel 1
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad 5> = Chat channel 2
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad 6> = Chat channel 3
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad 7> = Game channel 1
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad 8> = Game channel 2
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad 9> = Game channel 3
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad /> = toggle "away" status
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad *> = toggle MUTE output
<ctrl>+<shift>+<numpad -> = toggle MUTE microphone
it may seem weird, but it makes it easy to remember -- always holding control and shift for the binds, the top row of numbers on the keypad are for the game channels, the middle row of numbers are for chat channels, and the bottom are for general (current only the one).
|
you need not install the keybinds, but they can come in handy in a game (especially if you are disconnected and automatically reconnect in the middle of a game, getting back to the channel you were in is a lot easier that way ). if you already use teamspeak2 and already have keys bound, importing these binds will wipe out your previous binds, so don't do it.
