stupid PNG question... GIMP help
|
|
|
so a guy at the office has some pictures he wants in PPT, say a PCI card of some sort...
he cut the background out in paint, copied them into PPT and the background is white, not transparent.
So i told him tht MS paint wasn;t the thing to use... he should be using PS or GIMP or something at least marginally better than MSPaint.
bottom line is he gave me the problem...
so, in GIMP, ho does one tahe a one layer picture and remove the background?
I ask because i freely admit to not having the interest or time to find it myself, and feel free to call me a slacker and a moron while supplying the answer. |

in order to remove the background from an image, it must be saved for the web.. meaning it must be saved as a .gif is the most popular, but I believe .png can also do no background (but it's a larger file size) |

the png will look better though. i think gif's are more limited on their color range and don't do gradients very well. so if it's a simple graphic gif would work, but if it's anything complex try a png.
